2018 Jeep Wrangler Gets a 368-HP Turbo Four-Cylinder? Not Likely

Last year, we heard a rumor that Jeep was developing a new 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine for the all-new 2018 Wrangler. Last night, The Truth About Cars, and subsequently, the people at JL Wrangler Forums uncovered a document on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's website that seems to indicate this engine will kick out an astonishing 368 hp. From a two-liter engine, that's an outrageous amount of horsepower—especially in an off-roader like the Wrangler.

Previously, we reported that the Wrangler's new turbo four could make around 300 horsepower—still a lot for a 2.0-liter, but not unreasonable. With the all-new JL-generation Wrangler set to debut at the LA Auto Show in late November, we don't have long to wait to find out exactly how much power this new 4x4 will make. Read more about the 2018 Jeep Wrangler...
