BMW Says The 2018 4-Series Gets Styling Updates. Can You Find Them?
The 4-Series is a relative newcomer to the BMW family. It's only been around since 2013, replacing the 3-Series coupe as its own model in the lineup. Since then, it's sprouted a hardtop convertible variant and even a four-door Gran Coupe version, reaching niches and growing sales for BMW. The automaker says it's updated the 4-Series for a 2018 mid-cycle refresh, but from 10 paces back, you'd have a hard time pointing out the changes.
For the new model year, BMW has restyled the front and rear lights, equipping all models with standard LEDs front and rear. Four new wheel choices and two new exterior colors—Sunset Orange and Snapper Rocks Blue, both shown above—are available, and the front and rear bumpers have been slightly modified.
As far as performance goes, BMW claims to have reworked the suspension to improve handling without hampering ride comfort. The result, BMW says, is a stiffer ride that improves high-speed stability and produces more communicative steering. Engine choices and overall performance remain unchanged.
