Tundra goes full off-road with TRD-Pro

BLUE MOUNTAIN, ON: The TRD-Pro package on the 2017 Toyota Tundra gives a go-anywhere ability to this already rugged full-size pickup.

The 2017 Tundra TRD-Pro was recently introduced in Blue Mountain, ON, alongside the new to Canada 2017 mid-size Tacoma TRD-Pro.

The TRD-Pro will be offered in Double Cab or CrewMax versions that expand upon the current 4X4 Tundra SR5 TRD Off-Road Edition sharing the same 5.7-litre V8 engine with 381 hp and 401 lb/ft of torque.

The Double Cab model (6.5-foot bed) starts at $57,520 and the CrewMax (5.5-foot bed) starts at $60,025.

The interior is very simple with large analog main gauges and a steering wheel with just the basics, not a plethora of switches and buttons.

The TRD-Pro package adds TRD Remote Reservoir Suspension, TRD dual exhaust, TRD skid plate and 18-inch black alloy wheels, Bilstein shock absorbers, fuel tank protector plates, clearance and backup sensors, heated front seats including a power-adjustable driver’s seat and an anti-theft system.
