Watch the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE Blitz the Nurburgring in 7:16.04
Today, Chevrolet has finally revealed the Nurburgring lap time for its track-ready Camaro ZL1 1LE. The car was able to lap the Nordschleife in an astonishing 7:16.04, making it 13 seconds faster than the regular ZL1. Wow.
The ZL1 1LE is Chevrolet's most track-oriented Camaro ever. Starting with the regular ZL1, equipped with a 650-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter V8, the 1LE package adds tricky Multimatic spool-valve dampers and a wildly aggressive aerodynamics package. Oh, and while the ZL1 can be had with a 10-speed automatic, the 1LE package only offers one transmission: A six-speed manual. For reference, the "regular" ZL1 lap time, the one the 1LE trounced by more than 13 seconds, was set with an automatic.
In addition to beating the normal ZL1's time, the 1LE managed to get around the 'Ring faster than performance cars like the Nissan GT-R, Ferrari 488 GTB, and previous-generation 911 GT2 RS. This thing is wildly quick. Read more about the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1...
